The Crew have come across many, many vittles in the course of reviewing this contest, and we’re proud to announce our winner – Wes1761 and his Cornish Pasties!
In the chef’s own words: “If you like Shepards Pie, you might like pasties as well. I personally love them! I cheat sometimes, and use the frozen pie crust. I usually start with Potato’s and Turnips (nips and tatties) add onion and whatever meat I have on hand. I have used lamb, beef, pork, duck, and venison, all with tasty results. Dice everything up, give it a quick fry, then spoon it over into the pie crust, which gets folded over into a half moon shape over the filling. Then I just bake it for a bit, and I usually brush melted butter over the top of the crust for the golden brown color.
I have added rutabagga’s as well. PLUS, you get to chow on all the leftover filling….which I add a few sunny side eggs to like a hash…

And we thought (bein’ the generous Captains we are), what better way to distribute these tasty snacks than to have our friends share their favorite piratical foods?
